Career moves
It was one paragraph, probably written in a hurry, and you have reread it forty times. Some of it is true. Some of it is about the person who wrote it. Sorting one from the other alone, at midnight, does not go well.
Four sessions. We print the paragraph, read it slowly, and split every sentence into three piles: true and worth changing, true and fine, and not actually about you. Then we plan the conversation with the person who wrote it, which is the part most people have been avoiding, and we rehearse it until it sounds like you.
The outcome is rarely dramatic. Usually it is a better conversation than you expected, one change you decided to make, and the paragraph finally leaving your head.
